Downtown Cedar Rapids welcomes a new restaurant this month, "Victor's Place." Soon you will be able to get those delicious breakfast burritos that you usually have to wait in a long line for at the Downtown Farmers' Market. Piled high with eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese, potatoes and served with fresh salsa and jalapeños, these burritos are the real deal.
In addition to their delicious "Primo Burritos" which will be offered all day long, Victor's Place will also serve traditional breakfast options like pancakes, omelets and biscuits and gravy; lunch items include paninis, wraps, soups and salads. Open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, they will also provide "take and bake" dinner options for busy Downtown workers. Victor's Place will continue to sell their Primo Burritos at all of the Downtown Farmers' Markets (the first Saturday of each month through October).
Victor's Place is located at 201 3rd Street SE in Downtown Cedar Rapids. They are scheduled to be open for business in early June.

Throughout my life, I've noticed that although clichéd, the saying that "nothing is free" is pretty much right on. This is why I think that the CRBT Downtown Drive-in Movie Series is such a true community event - in addition to a different movie each date, CRBT staffers flood the venue offering free popcorn, glow-in-the-dark jewelry for kids and activities for all ages. Kicking off this year on Saturday, June 23 as a Freedom Festival affiliated event, the CRBT Downtown Drive-in Movie Series will feature the family favorite "The Sandlot." Kids' activities will include a castle bounce, fast-pitch area and Mr. Shucks from the Cedar Rapids Kernels will be available for pictures. And the best part? It is all FREE!
