Downtown District Welcomes New Staff

On Friday, December 15, we announced the selection of Doug Neumann as our new CEO and President. Doug has been a reporter and editor at The Gazette, and also has worked for the Cedar Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Cedar Rapids.

Another exciting staff addition to report is that Jill Wilkiins joined the CRDD staff on January 3, 2007 as the Special Events Coordinator. Jill has been the Box Office Manager and Marketing Assistant for the Cedar Rapids Symphony.

Downtown Winter Market
The Cedar Rapids Downtown District and Nucleus Retail Incubator are proud to announce the creation of a new Downtown Winter Market. The Winter Market, which had its Grand Opening on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, will be held every other Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Nucleus Retail Incubator, 207 2nd Avenue SE in Downtown Cedar Rapids.

Uncle Tony's New Orleans Café Celebrates One Year in Downtown
In celebration of their first successful year in Downtown, Uncle Tony's New Orleans Café is bringing the best parts of Mardi Gras, the delicious food, colorful beads and refreshing Hurricanes (non-alcoholic) to Downtown Cedar Rapids. The official one year anniversary of Uncle Tony's is February 22, 2007, but leave it up to Uncle Tony and his staff to make a month long party out of it!
