Each morning as the beans start brewing in Downtown coffee shops, as workers settle in to their Downtown offices, as urban dwellers awake to the bustle on the streets and sidewalks below, the staff of the Cedar Rapids Downtown District is already at work.
On the Downtown streets, the staff is tending to the flowers, plants and trees that bloom in beautiful color from spring to fall, or tending to sidewalks, park benches and Downtown holiday lights.
Meanwhile, other staff are working on initiatives to keep business booming and to keep both the community and visitors to Cedar Rapids coming back Downtown for the unique flavor we offer. Planning events, promoting our Downtown business, developing projects that bring new life to old spaces, and creatively planning for the future of Downtown Cedar Rapids is all in a days work.
