Adjustments to Farmers' Market Venue to Begin July 17

July 14, 2010
The Cedar Rapids Downtown District invites the community to the Downtown Farmers’ Market on Saturday, July 17 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. In response to the rapid growth in market attendance, adjustments to the venue have been taken that will be in place for the remainder of the 2010 season.

Cedar Rapids Downtown District Events Director Jill Wilkins reports the main stage located along 4th Avenue and 3rd Street will be reduced in size and redirection of the line from Victor’s Burritos to 3rd Street should alleviate 3rd Avenue crowding. Another adjustment will include vendors along 4th Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Street pulling vehicles originally parked behind their tables onto the driveway of the 4th Avenue ramp to free up room in their booth space.

The market will loop around 3rd and 4th Avenues, 2nd and 3rd Street SE and Greene Square Park in downtown Cedar Rapids. Patrons are encouraged to park in the 3rd and 4th Avenue ramps, with handicap accessible parking available in the lot behind the True North building. Full details on the July 17th market can be found on the events calendar of the Downtown District website www.downtowncr.org
