Campaign: "Stay Downtown after Uptowns" returns
Uptown Friday Nights TM begin May 28, 5-8 p.m.
Greene Square Park, Downtown Cedar Rapids
As downtown businesses recover it is more important than ever before that area residents enjoy what downtown Cedar Rapids has to offer. The Cedar Rapids Junior Chamber is always looking for ways to make Cedar Rapids a more vibrant urban hometown and as such are excited to announce the return of their 'Stay Downtown After Uptowns' campaign. The campaign, started last year, aims to help downtown businesses by encouraging Uptown Friday Nights TM attendees to enjoy more of what downtown Cedar Rapids has to offer on Friday evenings.
Downtown businesses that partner with Uptowns will be promoted at the entrance and exit of Uptowns. Banners will display the business’ logo, location, and any specials for people with Uptown hand stamps. Come downtown after work for outdoor entertainment, and stay downtown and enjoy what is offered by the diverse businesses available. Downtown businesses are encouraged to contact Andrew Niemann at (319)849-8263 or by e-mailing ufnpartnerships@cr-jaycees.com
Uptown Friday Nights TM is an outdoor concert series established by the Cedar Rapids Junior Chamber in 1988. For 10 Fridays in Greene Square Park, patrons are invited to enjoy live music, food, refreshments, and the company of each other from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. From the proceeds of Uptown Friday Nights TM, the Junior Chamber has been able to provide programming for its members and the Community and has donated over $330,000 to Community organizations since 2001.
The Cedar Rapids Junior Chamber (Jaycees), founded in 1933, is a civic organization comprised of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40.
