How do I get involved?
Sponsorship. Every year, with the help of sponsors, we create a calendar of first-rate events and programs that bring the community together and celebrate all that downtown has to offer. Through sponsorships, grants and merchandise sales, Cedar Rapids Downtown District led events are able to be completely self-sustaining. This means that our events currently require no further funding subsidies from our budget or your tax dollars. If we can secure the sponsorships offered in our 2011 Sponsorship Guide, we'll be able to continue our efforts of "Bringing Downtown to Life" through successful events in 2011. Do you see your business as a sponsor? Contact Jill Wilkins at jill@downtowncr.org for full details.

Volunteer. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our events and programming. Whether they’re helping to keep our downtown streets clean, researching the latest advancements in downtown housing or working Saturday morning Farmers’ Markets, they’re up for the challenge. Want to pitch in and join the fun? Contact Jill Wilkins at jill@downtowncr.org for volunteer opportunities.

Partner. You don’t have to be a downtown business to partner with us! We collaborate and connect with businesses across the corridor that support the success of our downtown core. Visit the partnership page for more information and to see our list of partners. To discuss becoming a partner, please contact Quinn Pettifer at quinn@downtowncr.org.

Advocate. If you’re just too busy for volunteering, and your business isn’t able to sponsor or partner, become part of the buzz. Help us spread the word about the progress and need for a vibrant downtown, revitalized better than ever. So what can you do as an advocate? Enjoy a Farmers’ Market. Eat in a downtown establishment. Change your tires downtown. Treat yourself to an appointment at a downtown salon or spa. Live downtown. Whatever you choose to do, do it downtown.
