The Cedar Rapids Downtown District welcomes patrons to another Downtown Farmers’ Market this Saturday, September 3 from 7:30AM-Noon in downtown Cedar Rapids. Over 219 Iowa vendors, on street entertainment and family friendly activities are confirmed for the holiday weekend event.
Patrons will have access to free parking in 4th Avenue and GTC parkades and non-hooded meter space on open streets. Handicap accessible parking will be available in the Guaranty Bank parking lot (entrance along 2nd Avenue).
Market patrons can enjoy activities hosted in Greene Square Park from the Iowa State University Agricultural Extension program, Corridor Gamers and many others. On street entertainment will feature Magician Jackson Green, Mark Brown, Junk Funk and a cooking demonstration by Braise Catering, with main stage performances by Marc and Brandi Janssen, Theatre Cedar Rapids and Patty Mac.
In celebration of the many events hosted this holiday weekend, the Cedar Rapids Downtown District and Czech Village will offer patrons a free shuttle service from the market venue to the NewBoFest hosted in the New Bohemia District. The 5th annual NewBoFest begins Friday September 2, featuring 40 local musicians on 3 outdoor stages, more than 30 artists and vendors, a midnight 5k, a bbq competition, half marathon and much more. Shuttle service from downtown to New Bohemia and Czech Village will begin at 8:15am on Saturday and run every 30 minutes until 12:45pm.
