In celebration of Theatre Cedar Rapids triumphant downtown return, the Cedar Rapids Downtown District and ImpactCR have announced a collaborative event with the goal to continue the TCR buzz. “The Celebrartion Continues! Proof at Theatre Cedar Rapids” will be hosted by both organizations on Thursday April 15, starting at 7PM.
The hit Broadway play Proof brings a powerful and dramatic tale to the TCR stage, featuring Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father’s who hopes to find valuable work in the notebooks that he left behind. The discovery of a mysterious notebook draws Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father’s madness — or genius — will she inherit?
Guests for the special performance will have premiere ground floor center seating along with exclusive access post performance with members of the Proof cast in the new TCR Lounge. Media sponsor KDAT will also be on site.
Ticket price is $30 and will include a dessert sampler provided by Zins. A cash bar will be open during the reception.
