About the Venue & Our Vendors:
More than 200 market vendors along with entertainment from throughout the state of Iowa will set up in our downtown venue in the core of downtown near Greene Square Park. Our market is one of the largest of its kind in the Midwest!
Additional vendors will be added to our expanded market venue from our wait list (filled with more than 300 vendors!). As the Downtown Farmers Market has grown, our goal is to ensure that at least 60% of products for sale are traditional market products, including but not limited to: produce, perennials, bedding plants and cut flowers, eggs, beef, poultry, baked goods, dairy, wine, jams and salsas. We give priority to products that are produced in Iowa and sold directly by the producer/grower. We also encourage and schedule about 40% of our vendors who sell other high quality products, such as prepared food, artwork, crafts, clothing and jewelry.
Our Downtown Farmers’ Market focuses on Iowa farm food and hand-made products while including unique specialty products for all to enjoy. While patrons visit for the classic market elements, we have also added a variety of activities throughout the morning schedule including interactive cooking demonstrations, main stage musical acts, street entertainment and family activities. Non-profit organizations will be on site to provide patrons with information on current projects happening throughout the Corridor. Our recycling program also makes our market more "green" and environmentally conscious than ever (look for recycling centers with bright blue signage and flags!).
