CRDD Action Plan & Priorities

[4][4][4]

Our Strategic Focus for 2011.

Annually, we survey downtown business and property owners, and the SSMID and Downtown District board members to review our strategic focus. This year, more than 150 survey responses answered questions ranging from safety and cleanliness of downtown to economic devleopment progress. Stakeholders were also asked to rank their top downtown priorities from a list of 27 projects and initiatives.

Top 10 Priorities for 2011:

1. Flood protection plans and funding
2. Attract new business
3. Advance community development projects
4. Strategic planning on all aspects of downtown development
5. Support existing businesses and help them grow
6. Advance private development
7. Continue Downtown Farmers' Market
8. Parking maintenance and operations
9. Parking capacity and availability
10. Help develop the riverfront

Other noteworth areas of interest:
Just missing our Top 10 (and likely to still get some attention in our new action plan) were blighted property purchase and redevelopment; flood recovery funding for businesses; advocacy to city/count government; streetscape care and maintenance; marketing downtown; and promotion of downtown housing development.
